Garrison Bridge Superannuation Scheme (Garrison Bridge) is a specialist superannuation scheme, registered in both Australia and New Zealand, for Australian and New Zealand residents. It is designed to help you save for your retirement and pays you a benefit when you do retire or as part of a transition to retirement.
Garrison Bridge is a Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Scheme (QROPS) which means you can transfer United Kingdom pension monies.
Garrison Bridge is also a Foreign investment zero-rate Portfolio Investment Entity (PIE) which means if you are a non-New Zealand resident or a transitional resident, you'll be able to elect to have a 0% Prescribed Investor Rate.
What will your money be invested in?
Garrison Bridge offers you a range of investment funds - three in New Zealand Dollars, two in Australian Dollars and three in Pound Sterling - (each a Fund) to choose from.
Garrison Bridge uses six leading investment managers to manage your money:
- BlackRock –the world's largest global investment manager, with over US$12 trillion under management. BlackRock is an American global investment management corporation based in New York. It was founded in 1988, initially as a risk management and fixed income institutional asset manager.
- Vanguard – the world's second largest investment manager, with over US$10 trillion under management. Vanguard is owned by its US-domiciled mutual funds, which are in turn owned by their investors. Vanguard is based in Pennsylvania, USA.
- Simplicity NZ– a leading investment manager located in New Zealand, with over NZ$9 billion under management.
- Harbour - a proven fund manager with approximately NZ$19 billion of funds under management.
- Smartshares - the pioneer of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) in New Zealand, launching the first ETF in 1996. Smartshares is New Zealand’s only issuer of ETFs listed on the NZX Main Board, with over NZ$15 billion of funds under management.
- Mercer - is part of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc (MMC), a Fortune 250 company. The Mercer network gives investors access to global investment capability with people in over 40 countries and over 10,000 investment strategies. Mercer manage approximately US$650 billion.

NZD Cash Fund
The NZD Cash Fund is a New Zealand Dollar denominated fund invested 100% in income assets (cash and cash equivalents). Expected to experience low volatility.
NZD Conservative Fund
The NZD Conservative Fund is a New Zealand Dollar denominated fund employing an active asset allocation strategy and a passive investment management strategy invested 70% in income assets (New Zealand and international fixed interest), with 30% exposure to growth assets (Australasian and international equities).
NZD Growth Fund
The NZD Growth Fund is a New Zealand Dollar denominated fund employing an active asset allocation strategy and a passive investment management strategy invested 16% in income assets (New Zealand and international fixed interest), with 84% exposure to growth assets (Australasian and international equities).
AUD Balanced Fund
The AUD Balanced Fund is an Australian Dollar denominated fund employing an active asset allocation strategy and a passive investment management strategy invested 40% in income assets (international fixed interest), with 60% exposure to growth assets (Australasian and international equities).
GBP Conservative Fund
The GBP Conservative Fund is a Great British Pound denominated fund employing an active asset allocation strategy and a passive investment management strategy invested 65% in income assets (international fixed interest and cash and cash equivalents), with 35% exposure to growth assets (international equities and listed property).
GBP Balanced Fund
The GBP Balanced Fund is a Great British Pound denominated fund employing an active asset allocation strategy and a passive investment management strategy invested 50% in income assets (cash and cash equivalents and international fixed interest), with 50% exposure to growth assets (listed property and international equities).
GBP Growth Fund
The GBP Growth Fund is a Great British Pound denominated fund employing an active asset allocation strategy and a passive investment management strategy invested 15% in income assets (international fixed interest), with 85% exposure to growth assets (listed property and international equities).

NZD Conservative Fund No. 2 (SLUK)
The fund invests mainly in income assets with some exposure to growth assets. Expected to experience low to medium volatility.
NZD Balanced Fund (SLUK)
The Fund invests primarily in growth assets with a moderate exposure to income assets. Expected to experience medium to high volatility.
NZD Balanced Fund No. 2 (SLUK)
The fund provides an exposure to a mix of growth and income assets.
NZD Growth Fund No. 2 (SLUK)
The fund invests mainly in growth assets with some exposure to income assets. Expected to experience high volatility.
NZD Australasian Equities Fund (SLUK)
The fund provides exposure to Australasian equities by investing 100% in growth assets (Australasian equities).
NZD Real Assets Fund (SLUK)
The fund provides exposure to real assets by investing into NZ listed property, International listed property and International listed infrastructure assets.
NZD Bond Fund (SLUK)
The Fund provides exposure to New Zealand and International fixed interest by investing 100% in income assets.
NZD International Equities Fund (SLUK)
The Fund provides exposure to International equities by investing 100% in growth assets (International equities).
NZD UK Cash Fund (SLUK)
The Fund invests in UK cash and designed to reflect the return (before tax, fees and other expenses) on the UK cash market.
